Service Description

The aim of Kobido is unique. While Western Facial Massage is focused on external skin itself, Japanese facial massage is concerned with the condition of the skin, subcutaneous musculature, fascia, and what is referred to as "ki", or the life force energy, often translated as "bioelectricity". The massage is divided into seven stages: Stage one: deep and slower massage relaxation in preparation for a deeper work. As the result of the deeper stimulation there is a boost of production of elastin and collagen in the face area and connected tissue a well as oxygenation. Stage two: relaxation of the neck, face and shoulders muscles to bring homeostasis and prepare for detoxification and further work on nodules and muscles themselves. Stage three: lymphatic drainage - detoxification. Stage four: working on the fascia, and muscles in order to get rid of adhesions, nodules, and restore the uninterrupted flow of lymph and oxygen. Stage five: re-educating the muscle, working on the deeper lines and restoring natural balance. Stage six: acupressure - working on the face meridians and tsubo points to restore the natural flow of "ki" and homeostasis of the body, and stimulate the connected organs. Stage seven: salt balls face massage of antiseptic properties to close the pores and relax. During massage you will have no jewellery, have your clothes on and only leave the shoulders uncovered. Please do not have any make up on although I will start from a gentle cleanse. I use sweet almond and thyme massage oil, and rose hydrolat. Please note that the massage requires pulling hair, gentle slapping and pinching, all of which my clients find rather stimulating and even pleasant. Also, some of the massage oil can get into your hair and scalp, hence you may want to wash your hair after the treatment rather than before. Call me for a chat if you have any questions.
